Appearance: He is about 4'7" and about 90 lbs. He's a touch short for his age, and a bit stocky, given that he's heavily involved in sports. Davis has spiky brown hair and big brown eyes.
History: Davis' first experience with digimon was a rather unfortunate one; he was one of those kidnapped by Myotismon in his search for the eighth child. Three years later, this contact led to him being chosen for the role of digidestined and the partner of Veemon. Ever bullheaded, he follows Kari, and TK to the digital world despite the fact that they were reluctant to have him along. In fact, the only reason he got to go was because Tai had inadvertently released three D-3s (this season's version of the digivice) and Davis received one. While there, he was able to lift the digiegg of courage and release Veemon.
From there, Davis and Veemon's friendship spiraled into something glorious. Davis and Veemon snark at each other, joking and laughing as if they'd been best friends for life. He grew closer to the other digidestined, learned to trust them, and that sometimes you have to do the hard thing and hurt your friend in order to help them.
Later on, it's revealed that the Digimon Emperor is none other than the genius/sports prodigy Ken Ichijouji, whom Davis had once idolized. He takes this somewhat personally and doubles down on his already ridiculously great determination to just win, damn it! Interestingly enough, his animosity toward Ken practically disappears when the Digiegg ofPulling Wins out of Nowhere Miracles and the crest of Kindness 'asks' him to trust Ken. Believing that Ken has the crest for a good reason, he decides to believe it, and subsequently believe in Wormmon. This particular digiegg, once activated, allowed Veemon to digivolve to Magnamon, and with the help of Wormmon, they defeated the big bad that Ken had created: Kimeramon.
After this, Ken shows up rather out of the blue to pull Cody, one of the other digidestined, out of a bit of a pickle by having Stingmon destroy Thundermon. Davis decides that this is most certainly proof that Ken is 'one of them' and worthy of his friendship. Utterly hard-headed, Davis decides that the best way to make friends is by practically forcing his company on the other boy. It isn't until the Digimon Emperor's old base is about to explode, and some particularly powerful words of friendship during an impromptu therapy session cause Ex-Veemon—the champion form of Veemon—and Stingmon to DNA digivolve into Paildramon. This particular evolution causes a deep bond in which Davis can hear Ken's heartbeat. It's a very intimate bond. Davis was stoked about this deep bond between them, deciding that now Ken had to join them! Ken walked off, and Kari, another digidestined, chastises him for forcing friendship on someone, telling him that he has to "let it happen naturally."
The next day, Izzy, one of the previous digidestined, calls the current team over to explain DNA digivolution.
Personality: Davis is extremely rash, hard headed, and, as the screen name implies, reckless. He lacks any sort of tactical sense, relying on blind luck and 'gut' to get him through the tough situations. He was granted the digieggs of Courage and Friendship for good reason, as he's incredibly brave and a very loyal friend. Sure, he had to learn a lesson or two about friendship, but once Davis decides he's your friend, there's very little you can do to shake him off. This is shown very clearly in the anime.Repeat after me: Poor Ken! He claims, early on, to not know much about friendship; the other Digidestined are his first real friends, and there's no one he's closer to (especially further in the season) than Ken. He's always there, willing to stick up for them and help them out. Davis also has utter faith in his friends, despite the fact that said friends often doubt him and his ability to not screw up. He's also courageous and tenacious even to the point of stupidity. Even when everyone else is hopeless, he refuses to give up because there must be some way to win this thing! He'll run headlong into danger with utter faith that his partner, Veemon—or whatever form he may be in—will be able to defeat the enemy, and even if he can't, that there will be another chance to do so.
